As part of its #SheMeansBusiness initiative, Facebook has identified and created captivating videos around six case studies around women from the region to take you through their entrepreneurial journeys, inspirations and motivations.
More than 15 countries have launched #SheMeansBusiness initiatives. Most recently, the MENA region launched this initiative in collaboration with Emirates Foundation and Sharjah Entrepreneurship Centre on February 22 to enable opportunities for 10,000 women in the region by 2018.
In this video, Sarah Beydoun dedicated her life to building beauty from hardship. Her 16-year-old business, Sarah’s Bag, began life as a program to help female prisoners learn a craft and a set of skills to assist with their rehabilitation upon release. Sarah’s Bag is now an internationally renowned brand with 50 points of sale in 22 countries, along with regular placements on leading fashion eCommerce sites and feature in magazines including Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and Elle.
